The city's history
Sine (Sanandaj)
Sine was the capital of the Ardalan emirate, which ruled Iranian Kurdistan from the 14th to the 19th century. The Ardalan court produced one of the most important Kurdish literary milieus, and there a Kurdish woman, Mestûre Erdelan, wrote the first Kurdish history by a woman (1840).
